Mt Stradbroke Walking Track Working Bee
Cup Weekend November 1-4, 2008

Campout at Native Dog Flat with working bee to include track marking and minor clearing works.  Walk all (10km return) of the track or just part and help out with whatever tasks you feel capable of.  WE will not be doing lots of heavy manual work, marking the track requires at least three people spaced at intervals to ensure track markers are kept in line and adequately spaced and are visible from both directions.  If time permits another short walk might be included over the weekend.

The camp at Native Dog Flat includes a Parks Victoria Toilet, water from the Buchan River and plenty of open space to camp.  Some members are arriving to set up on Friday afternoon, others will arrive ready to start work on the track Saturday morning.  Gloves will be handy for picking up/moving branches off the walking track.  You will also need good sturday walking boots/shoes, wet weather gear, hat, sun protection and plenty of water as there is no water along the track and it could get pretty warm.

Feral Horse Eclusion Plot Fence maintenance and relacement at Cowombat Flat
April 10-13, 2009 (Easter)

Lots of helpers required for a long weekend working bee to assist Parks Victoria staff and contractor to dismantle aged exclusion fences and replace with new fences.  Lots of jobs to do, no skill required and plenty of light work for volunteers to help with.

Again an overnight campout and if time permits an exploration walk to enjoy the Cobberas Wilderness Area.

Exact numbers attending required closer to the date to arrange car pooling for access to sites. For more information contact ... Geoff
